About the Company:
Growing up in a family of watchmakers, Carlo Crocco in 1976 left the Binda Group company, and Italian jewellery company, to set out on his own and create a new watch company. Designing the first watch to feature a natural rubber strap, after 3 years of extensive research to create, he made his debut in 1980 at the Basel Watch Fair. Although not faring too well by the watch fair, the watches quickly picked up interest and was able to bring in over 2 million dollars within the first year.
Calling the company Hublot, which translates to “porthole” in French, after his first designs of piecing his natural rubber straps to porthole shaped cases, made of different materials. Now with over 50 boutiques around the world, Hublot is the owner of one of the most expensive watches in the world, the Hublot Big Bang $5 million, and is easily one of the most recognisable watches in the world.
